Elegant Cotton Matelasse Throws
posted in Cotton Throws |The employees at Maine Heritage Weavers know how to weave elegant cotton matelasse throws. Most of them worked for the legendary Bates Fabrics before the textile giant closed its doors. Many of them are 3rd or 4th generation textile mill workers, taught from their parents and grandparents their skilled craft.
Abigail Adams and Martha's Choice are two of the designs woven by Maine Heritage Weavers. Martha's Choice is a candlewick (also referred to as a chenille or terry) and Abigail Adams is a matelasse design. Coverlets are offered in Martha's Choice design and are finished with a pom-pom fringe. Matching shams are available.
Besides elegant cotton throws, bedspreads, blankets and coverlets are also woven at this textile mill in Lewiston, Maine. Both matelasse and candlewick designs are machine-washable and will not fade nor shrink.
