Luxury Jacquards Still Woven in the USA

posted in Luxury Throws |

Luxury Jacquards still woven in the USA including cotton coverlets, bedspreads and throws are featured at our Bates Mill Store.  Jacquards made in America are becoming more and more difficult to find in view of the fact most throws are now woven in manufacturing facilities located in Portugal, China and other far away countries.

Maine Heritage Weavers is one exception, however. This small textile company was started by several Maine craftsmen and women, former employees of Bates Fabrics and Bates of Maine, the world renown manufacturer of Bates style throws, shams, bedspreads and coverlets in both terry-loop and matelasse construction.

Maine Heritage Weavers operates out of the same buildings that housed the Bates operation located along the Androscoggin River in Lewiston, Maine many years ago. These 100% cotton decorative and are available in a variety of colors and designs, such as Martha Washington's Choice, Heritage, Cape Cod and Abigial Adams Free fabric swatches of their popular candlewick and matelasse bedding are available at www.batesmillstore.com.
